Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Wed Feb 25 08:42:13 2026 Tuscarora Almanac for February 25 1907 – from The Book of Wrecks The Lackawanna Railroad opens a new combined ferry and railroad terminal opens in Hoboken. This replaces the terminal that was destroyed by fire in 1905. This terminal remains in use to the present day. 1953 – from The Book of Wrecks and Answers to Transit Trivia Standard Motor Car 2330 is wrecked at Broad Street and subsequently scrapped. Car 2399 is renumbered to 2330 (II) to replace it. Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I wonder if 2330 met its end at the bumper block at the south end of one of the relay tracks. There was at least one other wreck involving an AB Standard at that location. |

The only wreck at Broad Street of any notoriety that I recall was when R-16 6494 hit the block during a relay and had to be scrapped. It was replaced in the roster with R-11 8010. |

I was never able to figure out what sort of “modifications” needed to be done because AFAIK operationally it was a standard state of the art SMEE like the R-10s. |

I wonder if anything was done to it. I do remember Train Dude mentioning it was a SMEE right from the start. |
