Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Sat Jan 10 09:12:13 2026 Tuscarora Almanac for January 10 and a Forgotten Station 1961 – from The Book of Special Runs Goteburg, Sweden streetcar No. 79 ran under its own power on McDonald Avenue from Parkville Interchange to Coney Island using the electrified trackage of the South Brooklyn Railway. This car now resides at the Trolley Museum of New York in Kingston. 1969 – from The Book of Last Runs The American Locomotive Company better known as “ALCO” ceases production at its plant in Schenectady, New York Tuscarora Forgotten Station of the Week / No. 8 Camelot New York Central Railroad Hudson Division Camelot Station Abandoned: 1952 Camelot Station was located in Dutchess County, 67.5 miles from Grand Central Terminal. It was situated on the Hudson Division between the New Hamburg and Poughkeepsie stations. There were two short low level platforms and an overhead bridge for passengers. The platforms as well as the foundations for the bridge supports can still be seen today although the bridge itself is gone. It did not generate a lot of traffic and in 1944 was only served by about four trains.
