Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Tue Dec 23 10:46:59 2025 Tuscarora Almanac for December 231950 – from The Book of Last Runs The New York City Board of Transportation discontinues service on the South Ferry branch of the Third Avenue El. The following stations are closed: Franklin Square, Fulton Street, Hanover Square and South Ferry. The Chatham Square platform itself remained in use to turn rush hour locals. Source: Electric Railroad Magazine No 25, December 1956 1963 – from The Book of Last Runs The Lo-V’s still in mainline service are transferred from the No. 4 Lexington Avenue Express to the No. 3 7th Avenue-Lenox Avenue Express. They ran there for about two months until February 21, 1964 when they were withdrawn. |
