Nice pic. That drab olive color made them look like the rats they rode above.

That date makes sense. The olive drab paint is still glossy, with no subway grime. That destination sign doesn't look quite right. It looks like an R-1/9 sign, judging from the diagonal sweep on that letter S.

Still looks new and glossy, but its not straight from the factory new. The giveaway is the scrape marks on the pantograph gates, indicating that the lead car was mid train at one time.

Yeah, those pantograph gates are a bit scuffed. It doesn't take long for that to happen.

Car was delivered and put into service in 1961, so it had already been in service for a while. Looks like it just went through the car wash.
