LIRR-#7 substitution question
Posted by gbs on Fri Oct 17 21:42:32 2025 This weekend the #7 train is not running between 74 St and Hudson Yards. The MTA Weekender newsletter says: "The LIRR will also accommodate subway riders traveling between Queens and Manhattan at no additional cost at Flushing, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, Grand Central, and Penn Station." In the past we just had to show the LIRR conductor our Metrocard and not pay anything. But today's announcement with the "at no additional cost" makes it sound like we have to pay the regular subway fare but not the additional cost of an LIRR ticket. Can we ride the LIRR for free from Flushing to Manhattan this weekend, or do we have to pay something?
