IINM the controllers on the Gibbs cars had a heavy coil spring, so that even if you notched it up against the brass while accelerating, the coil spring prevented making contact at that point too soon. To me, it's like an automatic transmission. Putting it in Drive doesn't immediately put it in the highest gear. |

No. If you check the presence of a cab door, yo can see it is not a Gibbs. One of the photos is definitely a Hedley motor from the paneling on the cab door. on the other one, the paneling is just out of the view of the camera so it could be a Hedley or a deck roof. |
