And if the line were rebuilt, that stretch would obviously be used with likely the first stop after Myrtle-Broadway railroad north being Willoughby-Marcy Avenue (transfer to G), then Bedford Avenue, Evergreen Place, Clinton Avenue, Carlton Avenue-Washington Park and Navy St. before going underground and joining the Montague line either at Jay-Metrotech or Court Street and continuing to Astoria as an extended (W). |

Once more, you really know how to get great pics!As a kid, on Palm Sunday my family would go from Greenpoint to Holy Trinity Cemetery in Bushwick where my great grandmother was buried. I recall traveling down Wilson Avenue and seeing the el on Myrtle Avenue (and seeing no traffic light at the intersection of Myrtle and Wilson). I did not know at the time that I was seeing Q Types on the structure but to my young eyes those cars seemed to be primitive yet really beautiful. Thanks for stirring up some cool memories for an aging baby boomer from Queens! |

Hard to believe there used to be an elevated train at that location. Even the street is gone with the development of Metro Tech. An excellent photo essay indeed. Every so often I still see the western remnant of the Myrtle Ave el whenever I roll through that area of Bed Stuy.Vader |
