Posted by ChicagoPCCLCars on Mon Jul 7 22:13:49 2025 July 27, 2023 Riders will be able to hop aboard the 4000-series train cars 100 years after they first entered into service in Chicago The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is marking the 100 “birthday” of its vintage 4000-series railcars by inviting customers to take a ride back in time. On Saturday, July 29, the CTA will run the historic 4000-series rail cars around the Loop ‘L’ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Regular CTA rail fare ($2.50 full fare; $1.25 reduced fare) will still apply.
