Morining Sun Books

Posted by irtredbirdr33 on Sun May 11 10:37:45 2025

Morning Sun Books has ceased publishing printed books as of November 2024. They are continuing to produce e-books.

I do not know how many books they have published but their body of work forms a comprehensive encyclopedia of mainline and traction railroading from 1950 up to 2024.

The last price increase was about two years ago and the individual coast of a book was about $80. Even with a discount from Ron's this was somewhat high for many readers. The cost of printing and shipping has risen considerably.

Nevertheless I would like to thank the president of Morning Sun Book, Mr Robert Yanosey for the many fine books that I have in my collection.

I understand about high publishing costs but there is nothing like a printed book, especially for railfans.

I couldn't agree with you more. The book is always there. You don't have depend on batteries of internet connections.

Ditto. When it comes to books, I want to be able to physically turn the pages, not scroll through it on an electronic device.

Their books always were consistently high quality productions, even their paperbacks.
I'm old school, and there is just something special about an actual book that I just can't get from an e book.
They'll be missed.
