Vandalism Again
Posted by Train Dude on Mon Apr 28 15:16:36 2025 It appears that over the weekend, vandals were playing with the lay-ups on D-4 track at parsons Blvd. They were again moving trains and in doing so improperly coupled two trains. No word on damage to the electric portion or draft gear but I suspect on or both trains were unavailable for service this morning.

Oh and dumb azzed coworkers sharing inside stuff in message groups social media getting their tools stolen isn’t helping… Not saying all the ones getting their tools stolen are dumb.. Don’t get me started on the fired morons from this last test (which they are scraping the bottom of the list) who hold grudges and help this cause too..

Vandalism is usually done for the personal enjoyment of the perpetrator. Sabotage usually implies an additional motive, like getting revenge on the property owner, or making a political statement. Do you have any evidence that more was involved than disgusting individuals having their kind of "fun?"

By the same token (no pun intended), is this vandalism by the traditional definition of vandalism as therevwas no apparent attempt to damage the equipment. Clearly trespassing or stretching to theft.

If they don't work for the MTA and damage equipment as part of their "fun", they're vandals. Unless they were trying to make some kind of "statement" about the evils of the MTA or New York State, along the lines of George Metesky, in which case they would be saboteurs.
