Please don't use ALL CAPS. It's annoying to read and it looks like you're shouting. In the NYC system, the flashing green is not a signal about proceeding like an ordinary green, and it is not a timer. The flashing green means that CBTC is active and controls the train movement. CBTC, not the flashing green, tells the operator whether to proceed and at what speed. When a train passes an ordinary green signal, the signal turns to red and the stop arm comes up. This does not happen with CBTC. When a train passes a flashing green, it continues to flash green and no stop arm comes up. Read about CBTC |
