It makes hopping harder to do because you can't use two hands to secure yourself when hopping.People hop using their hands and arms like doing dips on parallel bars. If this observation is correct they will expand the strategy system wide. |

Yesterday as I was exiting uptown through a turnstile at 125 St (2,3), the guard at the gate intentionally let in six young men. So not only are we paying his salary, but we're losing the fares too. |

No surprise.A few years ago some guy hopped the turnstile at Continental-71, lost his grip, landed on his head, and died. I'm sure his family sued. If Transit is going to make it harder to hop, resulting in more injuries, they might face even more lawsuits. |

Judge the intent of a gov't program, policy or procedure by its results. |

Here's a wacky idea: arrest them en masse every time they try. And press charges. Back when I was a spry young man in the Gay 90's they did this and any gentlewoman could ride the underground trolley without being set on fire.

You "arrest them", say "I got you this time", everyone laughs, then you say "don't do it again", and walk away.Justice served. |

That's fantasy, unless a corrupt deal is made. The State makes the laws, appoints the judges and decides whether to pay or defend nuisance claims. Individual agents of the government can't be sued for carrying out lawful duties as directed by the government. If the State wishes to pervert and corrupt the application of law, they can welcome and settle any lawsuit as a means of stealing from the public and giving to favored people or groups. "Laws and locks only keep out honest people", this applies to governments as well. |
