Here in central Suffolk there's a bit of standing water on the roads in low spots, but nothing too out of the ordinary. |

The Mets and Phillies were rained out last night. They might as well cancel the remaining games and pack it in. They flushed yet another season down the crapper in May. |

Mets might have to come back Monday and finish Thursday's game with the Marlins. Marlins had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the 9th when it was stopped. |

They no longer record rain-shortened games, it seems. If there's a rain delay and the rain doesn't let up, they suspend play and resume from that point. IMHO it's better than replaying an official game in its entirety. |

That was always the case in this situation:If they don't need to finish it Monday, it will go into the books as a 1-0 Mets win in eight innings. This is even in the old days how they did it since the Marlins scored two in the top of the 9th. One thing I would do, however, is only suspend games in this situation. I would otherwise return to the old way of making them up entirely if called before it's official to appease purists who have never been happy with that rule. |
