I guess that means it has to be a southbound Poughkeepsie-originating train (looks like MNRR, and besides what other non-electrified line has multiple tracks?). One of the places where it's inland from the Hudson. Maybe near Cortlandt.

The branches are all single track, maybe little bits of two tracks, though I doubt it, never 3 tracks. They use the coaches and locomotives interchangeably on the Danbury and Poughkeepsie lines. My guess is the structure could be Indian Point.

Could the structure be the former Poughkeepsie rail bridge?

Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in the distance. Can't really confirm because Google Street View didn't go there.

That smokestack is from the Beacon city incinerator long since dormant. Picture taken from the overpass that connects the riverfront park to the "mainland", just north of the Beacon Line overpass. I figured you would get it. Over the years, the both of us must have rode under them thousands of times.

The Bank Street bridge in Waterbury about a mile or so south of the station has trestles for 3 tracks for a reason, which is why that was one of my first guesses.

The leading car in the Spuyten Duyvil derailment was a CDOT unit.

The overpass where I took the original picture is in the backround behind the Amtrak Train.
