Posted by Italianstallion on Mon Dec 5 00:30:01 2022 The Whitney Museum in NY has a major Edward Hopper show going on. On a huge screen above the first room is a continuous showing of a 1916 movie of the 6th Avenue el, mostly from the RFW. Very interesting. Hopper, who lived in NYC, traveled by el a lot and many of his paintings were inspired by views of street scenes, apartments, etc., from the trains passing on the el above.
