They’re IRT-sized.Yes, I know so is Chicago, but New York hasn’t had transverse seating on narrow cars since the 1910s except for the experimental R-110A. |

Are they planning on running fewer trains, just like NJT did when they replaced the PCC cars on the Newark Subway with Kinki-Sharyō LRVs (cut frequency in half)? |

Are they planning on running fewer trains..."When one gets to be a certain age, this sort of question unfortunately becomes unavoidable and obvious. I never had occasion to ride PATH very often, but I don't recall it being particularly crowded. |

I've had a fantasy of making a video where I have a long train runnin' (lol) on an HO scale layout while I play the song in the background. However, I'm not technically astute enough to do it. I guess I could use Garage Band (an Apple app) but I'd have to figure it out.The crude way to do it is to play LTR on my computer with the speakers cranked up while filming the layout. |

One thing that I thought was wacky was when they broke up and/or abbreviated WTC-NWK service because of work being done, while 33rd-HOB-JSQ service was unchanged. I thought it made the commute from NYC to Newark unnecessarily painful, because they could have just extended the 33rd-HOB-JSQ to Newark, and reduced the WTC-NWK service to a single shuttle to service Exchange Pl. |

Chris: Most of the PATH stations can only handle seven car trains without major platform extensions. This means that the news train will go into service on the WTC-NWK line. The platfroms at WTC and NWK can handle nine car trains. Maybe Exchange Place (on the NWK tk) and Journal Square. I am not sure about Grove Street and Harrison. Does anyone know sure? Also will the new cars be known as PA-6's? Larry, RedbirdR33 |

Definitely remember the transverse seating area. This is the design the MTA chose for new car purchases after an "indepth study conducted on passenger movements within the subway car" People have a tendency to group up around doors and center poles. So the car appearance team came up with an ADA advantage interior with space availability group in the middle of the train..including wheel chair accommodation/packages/stroller. Standing poles within reach, leaning areas..with transverse seating near the end of the cats. However, the new cars arriving will not have the new specs installed. What was the point of R/D? ? |

Those JSQ. via Hoboken trains are very crowded. You can have that pattern overnights, but not daytime and evenings. |

In Gaelic the term for black Africans is “Blue people” since the term “black” refers to the color of a person’s hair and not their skin so that was the was the Irish referred to Africans. With that in mind, the blue seats on those cars that have them should cover Africans, African-Americans and even Caribbeans. |

According to the story, "in conjunction with a project to lengthen platforms in five New Jersey stations, expected to be completed by the end of 2022."It probably won't be possible to divert trains if there's a blockage on the line to WTC, since neither Hoboken nor 33rd is long enough to turn 9-car trains. |
