24 Hours

Posted by Express Rider on Sat Jul 2 23:25:30 2022

Have there been any plans/ projections about resuming 24 hour subway service?

Chicago and Philadelphia are also supposed to have 24 hour sesrvice correct?
If so,have these systems been shut down overnight for cleaning, or do they continue to run all night?

THanks for any info. provided

um... We've had 24 hour service back for ages now.

Philly did not have 24 hour service pre-pandemic, save for PATCO, and Chicago only on the Red and Blue lines and they never stopped running overnight ether.

I didn't know this, live on L.I. and haven't been to the city in a long while.

Philly did have 24-hour subway service on weekends before the pandemic hit but has not returned to it since.

It still makes me laugh that the MTA said the overnight shutdowns were for "deep cleaning" when it was plainly obvious they were a way to eject skells.

It was to get rid of the homeless in reality:

They needed during the height of the pandemic an ACLU-proof way to do it that could not be challenged in court. This was also not too long after the fire on the (2) that killed a T/O.
