Just rewatched the January 6th riots.New York Times did a excellent recap of that day's event. Vocals were quite clear. The violence portraiture vividly displayed a mob out for blood, attacking and injuring police officers who were only doing their job. The offers were ordered to holster their weapons,not to shot any of the intruders The president did nothing to help them,only egging the people on by sending texts about Mike Pence not "doing his job,not having the courage to do the right thing" One person was shot by the police because she enter the house chambers, while the representatives we're huttled in hiding. She was trying to climb through a window of a door,and the officer shot her dead. Watching this recount,and watching Trump's cowardly cronies attempt to subvert the electors..it became clearer that was war on several fronts. Proud Boys and Oath Keepers we're egging the crowd on,crowds that encompassed thousands of people. They were dressed in paramilitary outfits,wear identifying hear that would let members know who was whom. I watched those police officers take beating after beating, clearly out matched due to the size of the opposition,the failure to send in the Armed Forces,and the non lethal force order issued. The caveat here is simple. The Lack of security was a staged event. Every warning was ignored, and dismissed by the officals in charge. The police were regulated to protecting the representatives and senators. Pence was ushered out to be whisked away, only to refuse to leave the building. If he left,it would delay the procedure further,and show the people government failed at it's duty, something Trump was wanting to see happen. Hours later, before the National Guard showed up,the president made an appearance,vis taped broadcasting,for the people to go home. As they were leaving,they were given pats on the back,hand shakes a congrats by some police officers. Even taking selfies with some. The next few following days,the same representatives,and republican senators were on the news saying basically that Nothing happened. They went to anyone who would listen, trying to gaslight to entire country. Ted Cruz,senator from Texas, continued his ranting about voter fraud on the Senate floor, even after both houses reconvened. The rest is history. What's got me,is the fact that nobody held any of these people responsible for THEIR ACTIONS,as conspirators. They are directly responsible for the attempted overthrow of the government. Yet,HERE,We have so many dismissive right wing advocates that KNOW on multiple levels what that entails,but don't care. If successful,the insurgency would have issued an declaration to the world that radical politics are Not just fringe,but government wide. The Trump government attempted to subvert the will of the American people who were unsatisfied with his governing. He,as president,presented a clear danger to the very people he swore to protect. While I disagree with the democrats over how they have governed lately, nothing could cause me to head down to the capital of the country and want to literally hang the vice president of the United States,as shown by the hallows set up by the Radicals calling for the head of MIKE PENCE. TRUMP EMPOWERED These people to commit criminal acts,put our representatives in harms way...caused deaths of other insurgents,with the help of other elected officials. When the smoke cleared,the consequences quickly came into view as the investigations began. Republicans quickly began to run for cover,and build up the narrative of "it didn't happen". The spin came from all sides. Hopefully,those responsible will have their day in court,and convicted of their crimes. Say what you will,but sooner or later, justice will prevail. |
