You don’t need to sign up for an account. You can’t use it on the LIRR.You can’t get reduced fare with OMNY. |

As Spider said you don't have to register your credit card.In this case registering your credit (or debit) card allows you to track your usage - that is - where you used the card at turnstiles and bus fare boxes. |
