Need help with OMNY

I admit I haven't paid any attention to the OMNY rollout. I just set up an account and added one of my credit cards. So do I now just tap that credit card for the subway and bus fares? Can I use it for LIRR, too?

You can use any credit card with the contactless logo. You don’t need to sign up for an account. You can’t use it on the LIRR.

You can’t get reduced fare with OMNY.

Just make sure it is a tap card. Somewhere on it, it has a logo that looks like ((((

As Spider said you don't have to register your credit card.

In this case registering your credit (or debit) card allows you to track your usage - that is - where you used the card at turnstiles and bus fare boxes.
