And utter chaos ensued on Monday the 27th. I remember reading about a train, probably a double Ralph, whose motorman punched for an incorrect lineup. "Instead of going under the East River by tunnel, 1000 astonished riders found themselves crossing the Manhattan Bridge."

Oops!

Well, they could still route him to the 4th Av line after Dekalb, but he missed a few stations (City Hall, Rector St, Cortlandt St, Whitehall St, Lawrence St, Court St (using the 1967 names))

Oops, not sure why I thought the punch was on the Broadway line southbound. Well, the same stations would be missed, but in the opposite order if northbound.

That Monday morning after finishing the midnight at Astoria tower, I traveled down the Bway Line to check out the observation and happened to see a N/B D entering Canal St from the bridge.
