PHOTOS; Then and Now |

Posted by kp5308 on Tue Oct 12 20:37:36 2021 Typical friction bearings in a not so typical Taylor passenger car truck under a former Reading MU car:That same truck modified for roller bearings sits outside the Reading and Northern shop in Port Clinton. Actually most of the work gets done to the bearing boxes: I don't think ANYONE could have predicted we would see roller bearing Taylors: Rain or shine we intend on riding #213 to Jim Thorpe this Saturday: |

The Super Dome was built with rollers but IIRC these are replacements. That is a 20 ton air conditioner in #4 :Plus both ex-CNJ open cars: I'll be asking on Saturday if more coaches, including the ex-Lackawanna fleet will get done. Although I have not viewed all 12 I believe the Iowa Central cars bought at auction are all RB equipped. |
