Linked: How the NYC Subway Works At 0:11 the scene is not from NYC. Anyone know where it's from? Also, when people say, as he does, that "local stations are where local trains stop and express stations are where express trains stop", they really should say "...express stations are where express and local trains stop". Of course all of us know that, but the uninitiated may be confused and wonder. |

What you are describing is an "all-express" system with "A" and "B" trains initiated by Chicago in 1948 by CTA and later by Philadelphia on Market-Frankford. |

For the record, Septa no longer does the A-B thing for the MFSE.It did not save that much time skipping a few stations and it was annoying to the riders ,it was determined! |

I still remember the A-B skip-stop pattern on what is now the Red Line, formerly the North-South route. |
