Thank you very much, Bill Newkirk, for posting and sharing these great vintage Pitkin Yard images, especially with the R-10's and #1575 too!I am now at the age to say is that this is how I first recall these classic subway cars as they were during my youth in the beginning of the transit hobby. After all these years later, and what I have seen and experienced on the transit system since that time, I am still here! -William A. Padron ["NYCTS - IND Division"] |

In car 1409 the panels over the door pockets are barely visible but in 1224 above it they are very distinct. Was that a difference between the R6 and R7 or is it just dirt and camera angle? |

I'm thankful to have ridden these old soldiers on the CC in their last days. Once, I was even treated to an express ride when a CC train I was on was rerouted around an emergency on the local tracks. |

It looks like 1224 went thru the wash track. The visible "City of New York" and the encroaching rust on the door panels from the washed off protective steel dust are the giveaways. |

Thank you so much for sharing these :) I have vague memories of seeing the yard while passing by along Linden Blvd circa 1964 (not that I knew it *was* a storage yard for NYC subway equipment). |
