Originally, there was no button box at 125 St. There was a toggle switch in the tower adjacent to the T/D’s desk that the T/D would activate to notify 135 St Tower whether the train was for Wash Hts or the Concourse. I can’t recall exactly when but sometime just before Chrystie St, the button box was installed even though the train ID switch in the tower remained connected. |

The original one didn’t since Concourse lcls and exps did not operate at the same time, so during off hours, all Concourse trains on the exp tk at 125 ran lcl on the Concourse and during PM rush hours all Concourse trains on the exp tk at 125 ran exp on the Concourse. With all the switches at both 125 And 135 St are controlled from a single master tower, there are more push buttons to deal with reroutes. |
