Tuscarora Almanac – September 13, 1982 – The Book of Special Runs

The Eighth Avenue Subway opened on September 10, 1932. In order to commemorate the 50th Anniversary the TA held a ceremony at the 57th Street – 6th Avenue station on September 13, 1982 and invited guests rode a four car train of museum Arnines (S-1802-800-381-1440-N). The next day the train ran in passenger service on the 8th Avenue Line between 59th Street and the World Trade Center. It was the first time that the Arnines had run in passenger service since March 31, 1977.

A special operation known as the Chestnut Hill Trolley begins service on weekends between Germantown and Chestnut Hill using the trackage of the former Rt. 23 .
This service will run until June 15, 1996.

#7 line service was extended one stop westward from Times Square-42nd Street to 34th Street-Hudson Yards (near 11th Avenue).

I plan to do a write up on the renovation of the 42 Street Shuttle once I get down there and check it out. I would like to get the consist numbers of the first two six car trains.

It is fine with me, just go ahead and added to the Almanac.

The first two six-car trains that opened the shuttle on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 were...

Two R-62A six-car trains assigned in use...

Track 1 = n/#1936-1933-1935-1932-1939-1955/s.
Track 4 = n/#1943-1944-1947-1948-1908-1949/s.

I would have had 1949 trade places with 1908.:)
