VIDEO LINK: R-211's on the Move on the "A" |
|
Posted by William A. Padron on Wed Aug 4 05:52:27 2021 R211 on the move: R211 Meets R179 A train at Broadway Junction. The R-211's will likely be going through the acceptance burn-in tests along the IND Rockaway Line real soon. A bit of irony is that this video shows R-179 car #3274 on the side. If you all recall, that same car number was last used on the R-10 series, and along with #3333, was involved in that wreck at Columbus Circle on 12/12/1978 in the PM rush hour. -William A. Padron ["Fulton-East N.Y."] |

Wow, those side signs look so tiny with no display, but I suppose with the excellent definition of today's display technology, they'll probably look normal-size when operating. |

Look very carefully where the side signs are in one of the cars in the background, flashing the "A" and its uptown destination. MTA Press Conference - 07/26/2021 -William A. Padron ["R-211"] |
