It seems that the so called “shutdown” of overnight subway service may be doing more harm than good. It’s time to restore full 24/7 subway service NOW!!!

It won’t cost any more money since the trains are still running and the stations are open for employees and other “essential workers"

If the only difference is regular passengers now not present, how would their presence deter these vandals ?

This is more related to the bail reform law and anti police movement . The vandals will never see one night in jail . None . They won’t pay the fine either and no one will do anything about it . Who tracks down people who don’t show up for court ? The city counsel was considering a bill that would just forgive fines for anyone who did not pay . They considered the fines a poverty tax .

Yeah, in their eyes, having to pay for your actions is akin to a poverty or race tax. Nevermind them breaking the law in the first place.

Well, there didn’t seem to be any recent acts of vandalism of this magnitude when the subways were open all night.

I think it would be happening regardless of 1am-5am lack of passengers due to general increase in crime over the past year or two. Serious crime is increasing throughout the state. Some of it is due to DeBlasio and some due to Cuomo's bail reform.

It won't come back until AT LEAST the Summer of 2021 as I noted in my own post on this.

The homeless are the problem, MTA needs the vaccine or to find a way to LEGALLY kick the homeless out that is ACLU-proof.
