R46 5625 Has a New Floor |

Posted by heypaul on Thu Aug 13 11:00:31 2020 I was surprised to see a new floor in R46 5625. It was much lighter than the regular black speckled floors and almost looked like a stone floor. It's neighbors 5624 and 5623 did not have a new floor. I wonder what happened to 5625?New Floor in 5625 |

I see it was given the floor direction signage and the revamped poles. Could be a trial or sample car, the rest of the fleet done maybe under next SMS? Seeing the 179s are OOS for who knows how long the 46s may stick around past 2022. |

Since the 46's have migrated to the Q, I see them and ride them a lot more than I did in the past. There is a solid and reliable presence about them that I like, as well as the large round Q on the ends of the cars. |

Also, who knows if they'll be able to place enough orders for the R211s.They may well have decided to give the R46s enough TLC to keep them going for a good while yet. |

The blue stripe is OK but I never liked the raccoon mask on either the R-44s or 46s and I don’t like it any better on the NTTs either!! It’s interesting that while a select number of R-160s is having blue painted around the window line, I think it would be better looking of the stripe were painted below the window line the way it was on the 44s and 46s. |
