Upstate NY residents are calling for all Empire service to be suspended to stop bringing people with coronavirus up here. |

But my guess is a percentage of people traveling by train to wherever have family and/or friends waiting at the station. So the potential to spread the virus is still likely.I think one reason Florida closed so many beaches is to get New Yorkers to not travel to hot spots and make a mini vacation out of this. |

I think the Vermonter may only be running south of New Haven.These are PRIIA-209 trains, like everything across Pennsylvania, and are mainly state decisions. Adirondack was at first truncated to Albany, now gone altogether with frequency cuts. |

Agreed, people traveling by train can spread infection too.One of my neighbors just left by commuter railroad to stay with a friend somewhere in CT for the duration. Another rented a car for a one-way trip to family in North Carolina. Each probably has something like a 1% chance of already being infected. So each has a 1% chance of spreading the virus to areas where the infection rate has probably been pretty low. |
