Transit Quiz I just made

Posted by Union Tpke on Sun Feb 16 12:42:51 2020

I just made a transit quiz. I would love it if you guys tried it out. If there are any errors, and I doubt there are any, let me know. If you are discussing the answer, put [ANSWERS] in the subject line so as to not spoil it for people who want to solve the questions.

Very good quiz. Requires a good breadth of knowledge. I only got 10 out of 25 right.

A station that can be entered in only one direction. Immediately I thought of Aqueduct Race Track. But that would be true of any terminal station, also.

Actually, Aqueduct RT shouldnít count for 2 reasons. First, unlike the other stations Mentioned, there is only one platform for the N/N track only. the second is that when first opened, whenever the race track was opened, regular Rockaway service single tracked between Liberty Jct and Howard Bch so trains of both directions stopped there. The reason there was only one platform is that when the race tkís grandstand was moved away from the old Aqueduct station the NYRA only agreed to pay for the construction of one platform, the one physically closes to the grandstand. If the TA wanted another one it would have had to pay for the construction so it was easier to simply write a single tk operation into the regular timetables that spend money on another platform which was only open during racing season anyhow.

Today, it is only used in one direction and it counts since there is only one platform, meaning you can only enter in one direction.

60/100, including the three you didn't guess for. That is a high score for the people who have taken the quiz.

By one direction, I thought you meant that you couldn't go both uptown and downtown from the entrance.
