Yep, from Jay St to Euclid. It was late of course. The electronic signs and email said it would leave 207th at 1:30 but it was more like 2:05 when it did and arrived at Jay St at 2:50. DJ Hammers was the conductor.

The train was delayed coming north due to an opening of the South Channel Bridge.

2:02, actually, was when it left 207th. I should know. I was on it. Got on originally at High Street around 12:58, stayed on in the front (N) car to 207th, then stayed on the front (S) car from there to Euclid.

From my understanding, it was the raised drawbridge over which the trains ran that led to the massive delay.

I don't understand the foam for the RFW on this farewell 42 run considering R32s were common on the A until very recently, and it has been hinted at elsewhere that will be assigned to the A again.. which I'm sure that word spread though the railfan community. I could understand the "foam" if they ran a RFW equipped car on a line that hasn't seen RFW equipment run on it in years. Like basically any line on the mainline IRT should the TOMC or Low V be used for an event.

On the first run the first car was CRUSHLOADED but the middle to rear cars had plenty of space lol. Also popular railfan Youtubers already have footage uploaded of the railfan window view from end to end on the A line so it can't be for the "exclusive" or getting a lot of views..

That's the same reason I didn't get on the Redbirds retirement trip.

Did they have one for the R38 or R40 or R44? I don't remember these.

I'll be on the R32 retirement trip, whenever that will be. I've retired myself.

Although I know which movie you're referring to, that came out in 1974.

My bad, I was thinking about The Taking of Pelham 123, with that quote I made.
Pelham 123 had 3 verslons, the first, (1974) was the best, IMHO. The second, the Canadian version, I heard was not so good, and a lot of folks liked the John Travolta version., the third movie.

From the French Connection, "Can I get a grape drink?"

Those were retired without the fanfare of the recent R42’s. As I recall, there were only two R38 cars running in service on the C train back in 2009, before they were retired for good. They were connected to R32’s on its last trip.

More info on that here.

The Canadian version of Pelham was terrible. The acting was wooden, with the players going through the motions. About the only redeeming factor was the rigging of the car (or, in this case, cars because the TTC cars used operated in married pairs) for the getaway. It was very faithful to the novel. In case you haven't read it, a heavy iron mold was cast in the shape of the controller and fit over it. There were three pieces of pipe of different lengths that angled out toward the side of the car, two of which pulled away once the controller was moved to series (mot multiple). The catch was, the front cab window had to be broken out in order to fit all the pieces together. The TA most likely refused to allow a window on a revenue active car to be busted out while in the case of the remake, the TTC cars that were used in the film were about to be scrapped, so chances are the TTC didn't care if a window was busted out.
