They're just putting in writing what they've been doing in practice most of the time anyway. Sorta like how they put the 12 minute weekend headways into writing on E/F/R trains (as opposed to running a supplement every weekend.)"The M has not routinely (>80% of weekdays) operated along the Queens Boulevard Line weekday evenings because of CBTC and other construction and maintenance work." |

Well, it's somewhat of a loss- but at least the service will continue to run peak-hours.Relatedly, Mrs. Main and I rode the M this weekend from 23rd to 86th, where we had dinner. Glad I got to ride this service- not even as a railfan, but in actual use. |

It would have been more passenger friendly, and still cheaper than the originally scheduled service, to run it to 96/2. The switches west of Lex/63 could easily handle the traffic once rush hour is over. |

Personally, I would instead have the (M) go to 96th-2nd Avenue evenings and weekends. That keeps the (M) on 6th avenue and gives SAS riders a 6th Avenue option in the off-peak period. |
