In New Orleans

Posted by Dave on Wed Nov 6 18:56:33 2019

The airport shuttle dropped me off at my hotel in New Orleans and before I even walked in I heard the air horn. BNSF 5740, and ES44AC, pulling a slow moving freight with a second unit and a KCS AC44CW.

BNSF 5740 (1 of 1)

KCS 4610 (1 of 1)

Moisant Stock Yards? What were you thinking? What was going through your head?

Look it, I am glad you made it safe and all but that right there was an upset anomaly aberration call it what you will. You could easily have taken the bus to Jackson and the City of New Orleans. You could have taken taken the Texas Eagle to San Antonio and then the Sunset Limited. You could have taken Greyhound through Tyler and Shreveport and Alexandria and Lafayette and Baton Rouge then on to New Orleans. You could have taken your car to Houston and then taken a boat. You could have done any number of things. But no, you chose to put your life it all on the line.

You are a man of the people with a law and finance background and we on SubChat cannot afford to lose you. Don't be stupid, Dave. Next time, think.

In the event you are still in the Big Easy I trust you already made arrangements to return to the Metroplex through a safe and efficient mode of transportation such as the automobile, truck, bus, train, boat, or time permitting, a fast scooter. Do not tempt fate by doing anything stupid. Alright then.

Have a good weekend and do not get messed up in the French Quarter.

DFW-MSY seems like it might have been an MD-80 route before they were retired.
