There's a tanker full of weaseling and implying the train was somehow out of line in that article. That attitude seems to be a local news staple, buildings burn themselves down, cars unavoidably crash, everyone must be as toddlers in adult bodies.

It's not rocket science: Lights flashing, gates coming down, get the FF away from the tracks!. Gates already down and you drive onto the tracks? Sorry, you're a fatal MVA looking for a victim. In this case the fatality happened to the guilty party instead of to whoever she would have hit while texting, daydreaming, or impulsively pulling into the opposite lane for "just a few lengths". The SUV looks to have been on at least one bald tire, and it's summer T-storm season.

Level crossings like this probably save a number of fatalities as a certain number of people who believe no rules apply to their special selves self-terminate before doing it to others.

Weaseling?

A witness told police he was stopped at the train crossing and the signals were working at the time of the crash, officials told 69 News./

It was not an accident.

There are no MVAs

This was a collision and this was an MVC.

Lets get our terms right and call every reporter on the carpet when they make this mistake.

ROARING
