New operating territory for the lowest paid in the MTA "family".That's how you save money. All that construction at the yard in Brooklyn was a waste because with a scoot, the extra rush hour service could easily lay up at Jamaica and abandon the yard. |

It's not happening anyway as the decision tat LIRR will still go to Atlantic terminal as a scoot. The fact remains that all that track work at Atlantic terminal will be moot since they can have trains stored and crews report to Jamaica. But if the plans were for NYCT to take over there would have to be some kind of extension to the E or J line for yard access to JYD or ENYD. One of those lead tracks could be used for non rush hour storage. |
