Calling Tunnelrat: Provision for express track flyover at Neptune Avenue on the Culver Line

See page 264. This document also mentions provisions in the Broadway Line for the Eighth Avenue connection and to allow the H&M to continue to GCT.

Very interesting but it would have been easier just to construct Neptune Avenue (Van Sicklen) station as express station.

Or else a local station with side platforms.

Werent all El stations built as islands & rebuilt as side platforms when center track was added? See jamaica and myrtle for unrenovated examples of local island stations.

And even then, Marcy was always a side platform station.

The Lex Av el was built with all side platforms with no space for a center track. As for the Culver, with the exception of the 5th Av el all the Southern Division els were dual contract construction unlike the Eastern els which had to be rebuilt for 3rd tracking and upgrading for steel cars. Even when the Culver was exclusively an el line prior to the opening of the Nassau Cut, it was able to hold steel cars since it was built as part of the dual contracts.
