Park Ave is much more than 4 tracks wide. South of 59th, no, because the railroad expands to use more and more space, and actually extends well into mid block. |

In the Park Avenue Bronx cut,there is no room for an extra trackage.In this case,the TA was going to do one of two things. Build an line above the cut...or use two of the tracks for local service. They would have been better off just rebuilding the elevated structure @bove 3rd Avenue proper. |

OK.By the way, might there not be the possibility of ripping out Park Ave (Bronx) completely, thus easily making room for 6 tracks, then decking over the whole thing and putting a new Park Ave. on top of the decking? |
