What Is the Half Life of Offensive Smells in the R160's

Posted by heypaul on Tue May 21 19:03:22 2019

Lately, I've noticed a lingering offensive smell remains in some of the R160's after the source of the smell is not discernible. What accounts for this?

I'm not sure, but I've determined the best way to sidestep the problem is to only take buses, the MTA railroads, Uber, and PATH to get where you're going.

Or buy a nice air-conditioned Toyota Camry.

Nope, not sufficient.

I've been on an MNRR train which had a reasonably long layover in GCT and no one bothered to clean the toilet. I told the conductor and he did not acknowledge that something had gone wrong with procedures.

And if you take enough Ubers eventually you'll get into one where the prior passenger just vomited.

Isn't cleaning of the toilets done at Highbridge?

How does that work? That would mean a train might make quite a few trips between cleanings.

There is a set equipment rotation between GCT and Highbridge all day to clean the cars. I'm not saying that each arriving train on every trip gets cycled to Highbridge, but they do have a system.

How it works on weekends IDK because Highbrdge is closed.
