ACTUALLY ITS KNOWN AS A RAIL BOND. IT WAS FASTENED ON USING BLACK POWDER.NOW IT IS FASTENED ON BY DRILLING A HOLE IN THE RAILS AND USING A 3 FOOT LENGTH OF CABLE FASTENED ON AT BOTH ENDS BY A NUT AND BOLT.

What standing did the B&O have to sue over the connection?

Do you have any PROFF beyond your own postings?

Tunnelrat is right on this one. Back in the sixties it was "given" that Belmont used his private car to visit the racetrack. Tunnelrat would know. He used to saddle his horse.

First I heard of that. I believe you.
They should have told the B&O to go fuck themselves.
The Pennsy didn't allow them into NYPS except during one of the World Wars, even though B&O bitched and moaned.

The IRT wasn't a B&O property, the LIRR wasn't a B&O property, the B&O had no physical presence on Long Island. On what basis could they sue.

So I don't believe it.

So I asked about this story on the B&O yahoo group. A gentleman who used to live on SI replied with some of the history. It is worth remembering that for a short while (before the Sherman and Clayton anti trust acts) PRR owned a controlling stake in B&O. This accounts for E-24 class 2-8-0s w/the PRR standard Belpaire firebox.
