Look at the skyscrapers going up in Long Island City. I used to work in LIC in the 1980's and it was all warehouses. After dark it would almost be a ghost town. Now its becoming a chic community, with rents to match.

AOC would have done well to keep her big yap shut and let Amazon move to LIC. When the Citicorp Center was built in LIC, it started the neighborhood up the road to prosperity. Amazon would have solidified that. AOC isn't a smart as she thinks she is.

LI City, as you point out, is already doing fine without Amazon.

Amazon chose not to move to LIC. No one stopped them.

So about 5 years ago a friend of mine brought me to a bar in Long Island City right in the middle of that Emerald City they have going on there, and I couldn't believe I was where I was.

What makes you think that AOC had anything to do with it? Just because she mouthed off after the fact?

100% correct. And furthermore, AOC had no power to stop them.

Now now...
You know she is a young up and coming dreamer.
You have to respect someone who can think on their feet...thats attempting to put Our Future generations on the map before men like trump destroy whatever we have left for THEIR BENEFIT.
She didnt force that company to back out...they choose Not to come here because they didnt want deal with the "climate of not being welcomed like Superman saving the day".
THEY HYPED THEMSELVES UP TO be thr SAVIORS OF THR NEW YORK job market...and expected open arms.

They can Still come here...and set up shop to do business likr anyone else would...with certain expectations that not Everyone will see them as an ally.

That was fun! I have similar video of the 7 line when it was all Redbirds!

What kind of lens are you using? When you pan on the moving trains, the train looks curved.
