The Grapevine Vintage RR needed PTC-capable units for their tourist train. The FL9s will be used in push-pull configuration and will be repainted into GVRR's livery. |

The lead unit (2016) was originally NH 2044. Both units were built in 1960. They were from the second group of FL9s built for the NHRR. |

The FL-9's would have, at best, had ACSES installed, which is only utilized in the Northeast and requires cab signals and track beacons. I do not believe PTC was a consideration here. |

Big money needed for the boiler inspection and repairs so it's doubtful whether it will return in service. GVRR says it will but they've been saying that for a few years now. |
