The section between Kings Cross and Farringdon is interesting, being a 4 track section that mixes tunnels and open cuts and is shared with the mainline Thameslink services.There is also evidence of previous connections and sidings. From what I remember, that section was part of the original 2 track Metropolitan line, and was widened to 4 tracks a couple of years after opening. |
