The retired D type cars are being rebuilt into Class 230 DMU's.

Are both 3rd and 4th rails higher than the running rails? This is one of the clearest photos I have seen of the power system. Thanks.

That was my "home" station when I was in London in 1978. I was staying at the Chelsea Hotel along with my college marching band.

I doubt the station has changed much since then.

New Utrecht doesn’t have island platforms. None of the stations on the Sea Beach do.

I still kick myself for not having ridden on the original 1863 segment. I used the Circle and District Lines quite a bit to go along with the Piccadilly Line.

The section between Kings Cross and Farringdon is interesting, being a 4 track section that mixes tunnels and open cuts and is shared with the mainline Thameslink services.
There is also evidence of previous connections and sidings.

From what I remember, that section was part of the original 2 track Metropolitan line, and was widened to 4 tracks a couple of years after opening.

BTW those ars have a/ in the summer. Still haven't solved the problem of A/C on deep tube trains such as those used on the Picadilly line.

They’re also open gangway style.

The R-179 should have been open gangway style. And all R-211s.
