Crew is announcing the train is BIE with smoke condition.All northbound service has been told to stop and stay at their next station. CR is announcing to call 511 for more info or to file complaints. First time I have heard that one. TO is a little more helpful telling us what bus you can take. |

Could they have run the trains to Prospect and reversed? The Shuttle platforms there are full-length, so they should have been able to use one of those to avoid fouling the s/b mainline. It would take a bit of setting up (like moving the back-up shuttle train out of the way), but it should work.subfan |

Then we couldn't have followed the T/O's direction to walk to Prospect Park from Church and take the Shuttle.Anyway, with a smoke condition do you want 600ft packed trains unloading on the same platform or the 150ft train? |

Good point re: the crowding.As to the smoke condition - of course the potential danger has to be taken into account, but remember - it is an outdoor station, so unless there's heavy active smoke, minor smoking from the brakes shouldn't be a problem. subfan |
