Ever wonder why the city loses money? |

Posted by Jeff Rosen on Sun Oct 14 09:03:28 2018 Yesterday we got off the LIRR at Jamaica for the "E" Train. Due to construction the "J" train is out for the whole weekend and the stairs and escalators to the lower platform from the "E" platform were all roped off. BUT THE ESCALATORS WERE RUNNING, BOTH UP AND DOWN!! I wonder how much electricity is used to run 4 escalators for a whole weekend!! |

Someone probably didn't think to shut off those escalators, or were afraid someone would forget to turn them back on Monday morning and someone would raise a massive stink about it. |
