Rode one today briefly, at about 4:30 PM, from Essex St. to Fulton St. The 179s are about half of the J Line consist requirement now. I did see R32s and R42s running today as well. |

On the other transit chatboard acouple of weeks ago, it was stated there are 3 R32's and 4 R42's running on any given day. |

Last week, literally every Z train had a RFW when I railfanned one morning. Most of them laid up after the rush, but at least one R42 and two R32s appeared to remain in service throughout the day.Alas, my poor luck put me on a Z train with a graffiti-covered RFW. Still usable, though— just look between the acid etchings. |
