R179's now dominate the J line

Just now, I rode from Suthpin Blvd to Broadway Junction and EVERY J train I saw in service was 179's. For anybody wondering there's now 12 sets of 179 in service.

For anybody who hasn't rode one yet their super easy to find now.

Rode one today briefly, at about 4:30 PM, from Essex St. to Fulton St. The 179s are about half of the J Line consist requirement now. I did see R32s and R42s running today as well.

3142-3149 is the newest set in service.

Rode the same portion of the J today, every set I saw, except for one 143 set, was 179s.

A little earlier than that, I rode an R42. Get 'em while they're there!

The J/Z needs 20 or 21 train sets. On the other transit chatboard acouple of weeks ago, it was stated there are 3 R32's and 4 R42's running on any given day.

Last week, literally every Z train had a RFW when I railfanned one morning. Most of them laid up after the rush, but at least one R42 and two R32s appeared to remain in service throughout the day.

Alas, my poor luck put me on a Z train with a graffiti-covered RFW. Still usable, though— just look between the acid etchings.
