From Facebook: As of 8:30 PM, 09/24/18 ....Amtrak 448/449 both appear to be held up enroute to and from Albany, in part due to a switch failure and secondly due to a disabled freight. Both are several hours down and this will also delay 49(24) |

When I was working the command center communication desk, we were instructed to use any wording possible when describing a derailment to the press except for the actual word “derailment” itself. |
