But with these type of jobs, that's their policy. I know of a cop who was a bodybuilder and used a cannabis oil and he got fired. The job was like well you use weed and that's it and he tried explaining but they didn't want to hear it. It sucks, but you know this going into it. She knows it also being a 25-year member |

It makes no difference when it comes to public sector jobs. That policy clearly states what is on the prohibited list that you cannot take. It's for the same reason why a cop cannot go on vacation to a country that smoke weed where it is legal and then come back and if they get Dole tested, they are fired, no if ands or buts. |

What part of sworn members of the department are prohibited from taking or ingesting marijuana or products made from marijuana aren't you getting? They simply are NOT allowed, legal or not! There's a list any Patrol guy called prohibited conduct, and almost everything on the list is legal. But the police just can't do it. From owning property in the precinct which you work to running for office to being a locksmith and many more. |

Don’t be too sure about that. A few years ago, a woman was denied a job as an asst C/R on the LIRR due to her height and sued the RR for sex discrimination. Even though the RR demonstrated that she was too short to safely reach and activate the trains emergency valve which was a definite impediment to her being hired, the judge ordered the RR to hire her anyhow. |

He was wrong, just like the judge that ordered all of the black fire candidates who did not do good on the test to get hired not only forthwith, but to have retroactive seniority as well! If you were qualified for the job, you are qualified for the job. However, if you're not, you're not! Nobody wants to work with a bunch of runts and cunts do to a court decision. The former police commissioner Ben Ward was correct when he said they lowered the height standards in the NYPD to hire more women and Puerto Ricans, but all the job got stuck with was a bunch of short little Italians! |
