Funny how "modern" light rail follows that pattern of putting the right of way for cars in the middle of a divided highway. But NYC can't do that.

Here in Denver, most of the light rail ROW that runs along highways is on one side. There's a 4-mile stretch than runs in the middle of I-225, but the new extension past Nine Mile jumps over the northbound lanes and runs alongside to Exposition Ave., where it hangs a sharp right and briefly runs down the middle of Exposition.
